I Need Help

Urban Ministries of Durham provides help to anyone in need, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, physical abilities or ethnicity.  The program is designed to provide short term assistance and time to gain renewed energy and direction for the next phase in the journey.

If you are hungry, come to the Community Café at one of the posted mealtimes.

If you need groceries, clothing or need help sorting out the services in the community to help prevent you from becoming homeless, come to the Food Pantry and Clothing Closet at the posted times.

If you are feeling lonely, depressed and in need of support, come to speak to the UMD chaplain at Bread for the Journey, come talk to someone who cares or stop by  to share a meal and perhaps even a laugh with others in the Community Café.

If you are homeless and need shelter, come to the Community Cafe by entering through the Resource Center doors, underneath the purple awning, Monday at 10 a.m. to reserve a bed for two weeks. We accept emergency referrals from affiliated orgainizations any day space is available. Call 919-682-0538 x221 to learn more.

If you are suffering from addiction and want to get serious about recovery, contact Leroy Joyner or learn more about Hope-Believe Recovery.

Urban Ministries does not provide financial assistance to meet emergency needs at this time. For this type of assistance, contact the Department of Social Services at  919-560-8000 or visit their website.
